  • Spectra Development as partner for the Warsaw School of Economics Graduate Reunion

    31.10.2016

Spectra Development was one of the partners of the Global Reunion of Graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Trade of the Warsaw School of Economics (former Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki [Main School of Planning and Statistics]). This year’s reunion was also the occasion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Foreign Trade Corporation.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Foreign Trade Corporation celebrated in 2016, the Warsaw School of Economics organised a discussion panel “Foreign trade today: challenges and opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs”, hosted by Marcin Piasecki, the “Rzeczpospolita” newspaper editor. The panel included, among others, four experienced graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Trade: Andrzej Szostak, Andrzej Różycki, Irek Sitarski and Marek Felbur, as well as Tomasz Salomon from the Ministry of Development. The panel was followed by an evening gala with over 400 guests, among the Warsaw School of Economics leadership, the faculty graduates and members of the Corporation.

The 25th anniversary of the Foreign Trade Corporation was an occasion to mint anniversary medals, which were given to distinguished retired faculty professors. One of the reunion’s traditions is to award golden badges to distinguished participants associated with the faculty. On the 25th anniversary as many as four such golden badges were distributed. Another highlight was awarding the winners of the “Business Idea” competition organised by the Warsaw School of Economics Professionals – a new initiative of the Faculty of Foreign Trade graduates and the younger generation of “non-faculty” Warsaw School of Economics graduates. Three founders of the awarded startups (SiDLY, Press Accreditations, Lacation Based Services), graduates of the Warsaw School of Economics, received diplomas and awards of PLN 150,000 to be used to promote the initiative and the winners in partner media – the Wirtualna Polska Group and the “Rzeczpospolita” newspaper.
